82. Riches in the Dark
RAW ✔️ Source: Necromunda: Hive War, Rulebook
Sometimes, the rumour of a newly discovered tunnel sprawl packed with discarded riches will spread around the underhive. Such rumours are sure to be investigated…
Battlefield
Set up the battlefield as shown below, with a Beast's Lair placed in the centre of the battlefield (X), surrounded by four Loot caskets.

X = Beast's Lair | LOOT = Loot Casket
Crews
Both players use the Custom Selection (5) method to choose their starting crew.
Deployment
This scenario uses the Stand-off deployment rules (see page 78). The two deployment areas are shaded in red and green, respectively.
Additional Rules
This scenario makes use of the following additional rules:
Reinforcements
This scenario uses the Reinforcements rules (see page 84).
Pitch Black
In this scenario uses the Pitch Black rules (see page 84).
Objectives – Grab the Loot
Both gangs are attempting to get away with as much loot as they can carry and prevent their enemies doing the same. Each gang is trying to drag as many Loot caskets as possible back to one of its deployment zones. This is done by fighters getting close enough to the Loot caskets and making the Carry Loot Casket (Simple) action to return them to their deployment zones.
Fighters must beware though as, not only is the enemy gang trying to make off with the loot, but the Loot caskets lie perilously close to a Beast's Lair!
Any loot casket that are opened during the course of the battle are found to contain only what is rolled on the table (i.e., a booby trap, nothing much, or an ammo cache). Opened Loot caskets are left behind.
Ending the Battle
The battle ends at the end of the sixth round. In addition, each gang scores two points foreach unopened Loot casket that has been carried into one of their deployment zones when the battle ends.
Victory
Each gang scores one point for each enemy fighter that goes Out of Action. In addition, each gang scores two points for each unopened Loot casket that has been carried into one of their deployment zones when the battle end.
If the battle ended because only one gang had fighters remaining on the battlefield, that gang scores D3 bonus points.
The gang with the most points is victorious. If both gangs scored the same number of points, the gang that secured the most Loot caskets is victorious. Any other result is a draw.
If players wish, this scenario can be played on a battlefield that features more than one level, by adding to the height of the walls and columns at the centre of the battlefield, and by linking these together with ladders, stairs and platforms. Loot caskets can then be placed on different levels, making it even more challenging for fighters to reach them as both enemy fighters and the long tentacles of the Beast attempt to thwart them.
Linking Games Together
If players wish to link their games together (as described on page 87), gangs that successfully return Loot caskets to their deployment zones will find them full of great riches once the battle is over! For each Loot casket returned to a gang's deployment zone, that gang will earn 100 credits. Each gang may immediately spend these credits to recruit and equip another Ganger o another Champion.
