115. Parley Showdown

RAW ✔️ The Aranthian Succession – Cinderak Burning, p90

"You leave me no choice. This path would spell disaster for the whole of the House of Blades!"
- Cyniss, the Mother of Poisons, HouseEscher

In this scenario, two gang leaders meet to discuss terms, when one crew launches an unexpected attack to take out the opposing leader!

Battle Type

This scenario can be played as either a Zone Mortalis or Sector Mechanicus battle. Vehicles and Wargear that grant the Mounted condition cannot be included in either gang's crew or Reinforcement deck.

Battlefield

Set up the battlefield as described in the Battlefield Setup & Scenarios section of the Necromunda Rulebook. There should be a clear area in the centre of the battlefield about 6" in diameter.

Crews

This scenario uses the standard rules for choosing a crew, as described in the Battlefield Set-up & Scenarios section of the Necromunda Rulebook. Both gangs use the Custom Selection (4) method to determine their crew. Each gang's crew must include their Leader; if the Leader is not able to take part in the battle they must include a Champion instead and they are considered the Leader for the purpose of this scenario. The rest of each gang's Fighter cards are shuffled together to form the Reinforcements decks.

Deployment

Starting with the gang with the highest Gang Rating, players take turns deploying a fighter within 12" of the centre of the battlefield and at least 9" from any enemy fighters.

Gang Tactics

Each player may choose two gang tactics from those available to their gang. If, during the pre-battle sequence, the gang rating of one player's gang is less than their opponent's, they may randomly determine one additional gang tactic for each full 100 credits of difference.

Ending the Battle

The battle ends in the End phase if either gang's Leader has been taken Out of Action or only one gang has fighters left on the battlefield.

Victory

If only one gang's Leader has been taken Out of Action, the opposing gang is the victor. Any other result is a draw.

Rewards

Credits

The victorious gang adds 2D6x10 credits to their Stash. The losing gang adds D3x10 credits to their Stash.

If the battle is a draw then both gangs add D6x10 credits to their Stash.

If a gang's Leader took the opposing gang's Leader Out of Action then their gang adds an additional D6x10 credits to their Stash.

Experience

Each fighter who took part in the battle earns 1 XP.

If a fighter takes the opposing gang's Leader Out of Action, they earn an additional D3 XP. This is increased to 3 XP if performed by the gang's Leader.

Reputation

The victorious gang gains D3 Reputation. If either gang bottles out, they lose 1 Reputation.

I Come to Bury the Queen, Not Praise Her

The gangs both turned up to parley, and so brought no guns with them. Any fighter that is part of either gang's starting crew may only use weapons with the Melee trait.

Reinforcements

Both gangs can use Reinforcements, as described in the Battlefield Set-up & Scenarios section of the Necromunda Rulebook. In the second round, and each round thereafter, up to two random fighters from each gang will arrive in the End phase on a random battlefield edge.

note

War of Crones

If players wish they may use this scenario to represent Cyniss' attack on Adina. In order to do this make the following changes:
