Nomad Trading Post

RAW ✔️ Tribes of the Wastelands, p96

The following pages contain rules for all of the weapons and Wargear available to gangs and fighters through the Nomad Trading Post.

Players should note that the Nomad Trading Post is only available to Ash Waste Nomads gangs and cannot be accessed by other gangs. Although some Imperial weaponry and equipment does appear in the Nomad Trading Post, it is often harder to obtain than usual, the Ash Waste Nomads preferring to use their own equipment which has been designed to survive the harsh and unforgiving environment.

During the Visit the Trading Post sub-step of the Update Roster step of the post-battle sequence, Ash Waste Nomads gangs perform the Seek Scavenged Equipment action instead of the Seek Rare & Illegal Equipment action.

Seek Scavenged Equipment (Trade Post-battle Action Only): This action can only be performed if a fighter has made a Trade post-battle action, is only performed once and is done to determine the availability of Scavenged items on offer at the Nomad Trading Post (see below). Roll 2D6 to determine the availability of items, adding the following bonuses:

  • +2 if the gang's Leader is making a Trade Post-battle action.
  • +1 for each Champion making a Trade Post-battle action.
  • +1 for every full 10 Reputation the gang has.
  • +/-X as from a specified special rule.

An Ash Waste Nomads gang may purchase equipment from the Nomad Trading Post that is Scavenge (X) where X is equal to or less than the Availability level.

Note that Exclusive items may not be purchased from the Trading Post, only from gang Equipment Lists.

Availability and Cost

Items available at the Trading Post are marked with their Availability Level (AL), such as C (Common), R9 (Rarity 9), I13 (Illegal 13), or S6 (Scavenge 6).

Exclusive Items (E)

The availability of exclusive items is indicated with an 'E'. Please note that these exclusive items cannot be purchased through the Trading Post and are only available within the gang's Equipment Lists.

Cost Adjustments: Diamond (♦)

If an item is available to a fighter through their equipment list at a different cost than in the Trading Post, it will be marked accordingly. Fighters cannot purchase such items from the Trading Post and must instead use their own equipment list.

Any differences in cost are shown for reference only, as House Equipment Lists no longer exist – all equipment access and costs are now determined by individual fighter equipment lists. Consult your Fighter's Equipment list during gang creation to cross-reference the item's cost.
