Archeo-loot
RAW ✔️ Necromunda: Hive Secundus Rulebook, p115
The depths of the Underhells are filled with ancient archeo-treasures in the form of data crystal stacks. These precious pieces of archeotech can either be traded on the black market for weapons and wargear, or data-mined for the ancient secrets they contain. This latter practice is mostly the purview of the Van Saar Tek-hunters who use the information contained within the data crystals to upgrade their equipment, fabricate new gear or learn more about the ruins of Hive Secundus to help them in their delving.
At the end of a scenario, the Secundan Incursion gang tally up their haul of Data Crystals and add them to their Data Crystal Stash. This Stash may then be spent to randomly draw items from the Archeo-loot deck (see below) by performing the Find Hidden Tech post-battle action. Some of these items upgrade a fighter in the Secundan Incursion gang while others represent either one use items or one-off scenario benefits.
Adding Archeo-loot To Secundan Incursion Gangs
Prior to each scenario, a player may assign Archeo-loot from the Secundan Incursion gang's Stash to any of their fighters that are taking part in the battle. Note that some pieces of Archeo-loot can only be assigned to certain fighters which will be noted in their title with the fighter type(s) able to use them. Unless otherwise noted, carrying multiple pieces of the same Archeo-loot grants a fighter no additional benefits.
The Spyrer may never use Archeo-loot and instead has their own suit upgrades.
Some Archeo-loot is noted as being Disposable. Disposable loot can only be used once per scenario, as noted in its description.
Archeo-loot power level
The greatest treasures of Hive Secundus remain in its depths, hoarded in great data crystal stacks by the minions of the Malstrain Patriarch. When spending Data Crystals on Archeo-loot, the Secundan Incursion gang player may only choose items of a Power level (as noted on each item's card) equal to the level of the Underhells they are currently on.
- Spending one Data Crystal allows the Secundan Incursion gang to choose a random Disposable item of Archeo-loot.
- Spending three Data Crystals allows the Secundan Incursion gang to choose a random item of non-Disposable Archeo-loot.
For the purposes of Power levels, a descent counts as the level below it.
